Sony Open

It's early, but I wouldn't want a bunch of senior tour eligible players on my team--- it sure looks like a young man's game.  It's not that the odd Steve Stricker can no longer compete, but fans of the web.com tour will certainly have an advantage because that is where the value picks are found.  That said, homework and youth are currently trumping luck and age; Team #20 knew something and drafted Russell Henley (63, 63, 67, 63 win) in the fifth round, whereas Team #1 chose to draft the Jurassic Davis Love III (75, 75 missed cut) in the sixth.  As athletic as this formally cerebrally dominate game has become, it would appear that One Putts (Team#1) might have been better off drafting RG3 than DL3.

I would like to see some suggestions in the comments section that will make this blog better. They can include adding other relevant links or any post topics you would like to see.  Schedule permitting, I plan on updating the standings most weeks.

One of the features I would like to see is a guest post from various teams on the Wednesday before the start of a new tournament.  Since he is the title sponsor, I believe that it would only be appropriate for Rod to start off this new tradition.  Simply send me an email, and I will post it so we can generate some discussion during the tournament.

Secondly, I'm looking into the logistics of running optional weekly pools to add a little intrigue throughout the year.  I'm thinking along the lines of a $5 buy-in for weeks when you want in, maybe some kind of prop bet.  Format suggestions are welcome, such as, should the pool be based on team or individual player performance, and should people be able to wager on teams or players other than their own?

As a note, I have reserved the domain name: rodmackaygolf.com.  I will let you know when I link it to the blog.
